RSPB Strumpshaw Fen Nature ReserveRSPB Strumpshaw Fen Nature Reserve

Set in the wild and beautiful Yare Valley, near Norwich, Strumpshaw Fen is a great place to see the wildlife and landscapes of the Norfolk Broads. Nature trails lead you through reedbeds, pools, wildflower meadows and woodlands. Look out for marsh harriers, bitterns and otters. You can also borrow nets for pond dipping – see what you can find.

By Road:
The reserve is best approached from the village of Brundall, east of Norwich just off the A47. From the A47 roundabout, drive through Brundall and continue along the high street towards Strumpshaw. Soon after you pass the Strumpshaw sign, turn right into Stone Road, and immediately right again into Low Road. The reserve car park is 500 m down Low Road on the right.

By Public Transport:
By bus: the 17A service from Norwich stops near the reserve, at the bottom of Stone Road. From Stone Road turn immediately right down Low Road, the reserve is 15 minutes walk from here. Buses run week days and Saturdays (not Sundays).

Accessible by Public Transport : 2 miles (3.2 kms) from Brundall station

Visitor facilities include three hides, a pond-dipping platform, and a reception area.
Disabled Access: limited access for wheelchairs – see website or phone for details.
