Come to Freiston Shore to experience the wonders of the Wash, a vast expanse of mudflats used as a feeding ground by hundreds of thousands of birds each year.
See our emblematic bird the avocet raising young here in the summer and witness the spectacle of thousands of brent geese, visitors all the way from Siberia, feasting on the wet grassland in the winter.

Over the last century sea walls in this part of the country have been pushed further back, claiming more and more land for farming. By reinforcing a sea wall further inland and creating openings in the existing sea wall we have created new saltmarsh, a rare and important habitat which is being lost at an alarming rate due to sea level rise. This new habitat also acts as a brilliant flood defense for the low-lying land in Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.
