Blake House Craft Centre
Situated near Braintree in Essex, Blake House Craft Centre is one of the region's true hidden gems. Once a traditional farmyard, with buildings used as stables, cattle sheds and cart lodges, this wonderful site has been transformed into a vibrant and flourishing craft centre which houses a wide range of small local businesses.
A beautiful Essex barn forms the centrepiece of a cluster of sympathetically restored 18th and 19th century listed buildings. This delightful environment hosts a variety of individual shops and workshops where you can buy unusual and attractive wares.
Wander around the fine variety of art and craft shops in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, where there really is something for everyone! There are so many shops offering products that you just won't find anywhere else, from a basket of flowers to ballet shoes, from dolls houses to designer kids clothing and from electric guitars to elegant fabrics, you can treat yourself or find the perfect gift.
Once you've looked around the shops, enjoy a bite to eat, challenge your friends to a round of crazy golf on our 9 hole minigolf course and then test your wits against the maize maze challenge! Open daily during the summer and a new design every year, please visit www.greatmaze.info for more details.
Our licensed restaurant "Timbers' is housed in an 18th century listed corn barn. For coffee, lunchtime snack or full restaurant meal, visit Timbers Restaurant. Open 7 days a week and Wednesday - Saturday evenings! Please call 01376 552553.
