Westacre Theatre has been offering a consistently high standard of plays and theatre productions for 20 years. The programme features in-house productions from the Westacre Theatre Company, touring companies and music events together with regular and holiday drama workshops for children and young people aged 6-21 years, Riverside Readers, our regular reading group, The Play-Reading group who get together once a month to read aloud and discuss plays and our Sunday night film screenings.
We run a full Summer Theatre Season which usually features at least 3 different major productions. In 2005 we launched our Bursary Award Scheme where 1st and 2nd year Performing Arts/Drama undergraduate students audition to come and work with us over the summer. In 2009 we offered a record 10 students the chance to be part of the company for the summer and the scheme grows every year.
"We had a wonderful evening. Thank you all. It started with the lovely friendly face on the door and her welcome, refreshments in the bar, the wonderful cast - everything so professional yet so very friendly and comfortable."
