Salhouse BroadSalhouse Broad

Welcome to Salhouse Broad: a place of natural beauty. These are just some of the things that make the Broad special: it is a home to a wide range of wildlife, why not explore the ancient woodland, enjoy a picnic on the grassy hill or let the children run wild in the rustic play area? It is an ideal place to walk the dog or perhaps just relax and take in the beautiful scenery...

For those lucky enough to live close by, why not walk or bike to Salhouse Broad? If you live a little further away, our excellent public services mean you can arrive by a regular bus or train service all week- please see Anglian Bus Service 123, First Eastern Counties Bus Service 12 or the Bittern Line Train Service.

For those coming by boat, you can moor up at Salhouse Broad using the stern-on moorings inside the Broad, or side-on moorings on the river (perfect for fishing and peace and quiet, but there is no access to mainland). There is a small charge for mooring: £1.50 - 1 hour, £3 daytime stay, £6 overnight stay. Revenue collected from the mooring fees goes back into the management and conservation of Salhouse Broad. Facilities include: drinking water (included in your mooring fee), recycling bins, general waste bins, dog poo bins, public toilets and access to Salhouse village for post office and shop. If you are in need of a meal out and a drink, why not try The Salhouse Bell, 30 minutes walk (or a free pick up from the car park if you prefer) or The Fur and Feather, 20 minutes walk. Woodforde's Brewery Shop can also be found in Woodbastwick, next to the Fur and Feather.

We host a selection of events throughout the year from guided boat and canoe trips, to moth and bat evenings, a Raft Race and Green Boat Show. We are sure that we can offer something to satisfy everyone, so check out our events list now!

We look forward to seeing you at Salhouse Broad: if you have any questions when you visit, look out one of our Rangers who will be able to help you.
