The Film Night Spectacular at Christchurch Park

Christchurch Park will host The Film Night Spectacular, including a firework finale, on Saturday, July 6 as part of Ip-art 2013, with special guest compere Brian Blessed. Gates will open at 6pm so the audience can enjoy their picnics prior to the performance at 8pm.

Providing music from Bond and Mission Impossible to Jurassic Park and the Great Escape will be The Heart of England Philharmonic and a very special guest artist who will be announced in the New Year.

"I've been in the film business for over 45 years and the music is always one of the aspects I really love. To share the live orchestra experience, some fantastic music and a story or two with an audience in Ipswich is something I'm really looking forward to. It's been several years since I played Captain Hook in pantomime here and it'll be great to come back for even more fun," said the actor.

The Philharmonic's Helen Fitzgerald said they can't wait to come back too.

"We have some very special performers for the event including virtuosic percussionist Alasdair Malloy. This year Alasdair's performances have included both the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert and the opening ceremony of the Olympics. We're particularly looking forward to his Jurassic Park effects."
