Wicken Fen National Nature ReserveWicken Fen National Nature Reserve

Wicken Fen is an internationally important wetland nature reserve, and a unique fragment of the wilderness that once covered East Anglia. It is a haven for birds, insects, plants and mammals alike. The Sedge Fen is undrained fenland, but accessible either via the boardwalk or lush grass droves. The Adventurers' Fen has open water and a wealth of wildfowl and waders. In addition, the wooden working windpump and traditional fen cottage provide an insight into the social history of the fens.
