Stockwood Discovery Centre offers interactive displays, a variety of gardens and collections, a children's play area, bee gallery and much more. It is a wonderful attraction and museum.

After some early lunch at Stockwood Discovery Centre, take the A6 north from Luton to the village of Silsoe - and Wrest Park.

Wrest Park

One of the most beautiful gardens in England inspired by the great gardens of Versailles in France.

From Wrest Park, continue north on the A6 for about 1 mile (2 kilometres) to the roundabout. Turn right onto the A507. After 4 miles (6 kilometres), turn left at the roundabout onto the A600. Then at the next roundabout, turn right onto the B658. After 5 miles (8 kilometres), turn left at the roundabout onto the unclassified road to the village of Old Warden - and The Swiss Garden.

Situated on the edge of The Chilterns, Luton is a thriving town with one of the most vibrant multi-cultural communities in the country. From the 17th C. it was noted for its straw plait and hat-making industries. St. Mary's Church has one of the finest double arch stone screens in Europe. The Mall shopping centre, museums, excellent entertainment/leisure facilities and several landscaped parks are other key attractions. Luton holds Britain's biggest one day carnival.
