The Nassaburgh Trail
This 13.5 mile route takes in some of western Peterborough's most scenic countryside and picturesque rural villages, including: Castor, Ailsworth and Marholm.
As you cycle from Ailsworth towards Helpston keep an eye open for Castor Hanglands, a remnant of the historic hunting forest of Nassaburgh, which is now considered to be one of the most important nature reserves in England
The route is suitable for families as the majority is on quiet lanes, although some on-road cycling and negotiation of junctions is required, thus we would recommend this route to confident cyclists only. At an average speed (8 mph) most cyclists will take approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to complete the route (excluding breaks etc).
Bretton Centre is located approximately 4 miles from Peterborough city centre and is located on Bretton Way, which is also close to the A47
Bretton Centre has free car parking
