For All The Family

The East has always been a family place, and its arts events are no different.

Once Upon A Festival is returning for 2017, taking place in venues across the East, with more shows to delight even more children with brilliant live performances. And Lowestoft goes Latin in October with a visit from FlipSide. The arts and literature festival from Brazil gives young people and their families a chance to explore the Amazon through workshops and events including dance, music, comic strip masterclasses, theatre and art.

Latitude, held every July in Suffolk, is a festival famed for its family-friendly atmosphere. A dedicated camping area and full programme of magical child-friendly events make it an event they will always remember. FolkEast is another special festival – the low-key, happy-go-lucky nature of this summer event makes it an ideal choice for families.

Further north is the Young Norfolk Arts Festival, a celebration of creativity and performance, by and for young people in Norfolk. There's plenty of chances for you to get involved or just sit back and enjoy.

Ipswich welcomes Clangers, Bagpuss & Co. an exhibition exploring a bygone age of children's television, a perfect opportunity to revisit old classics with new families.

This is on top of the great year-round events for families across the region. Keep your eyes on this page for the latest family-friendly events as they're announced.
