Breakfast and Dining

After a long career of working as a chef in some of Europe’s finest restaurants, including the Ritz in London and Lucas Carton in Paris, James is very excited to be cooking for guests of Old Town Hall House. James’ cooking style is elegant and refined, reflecting a true love of food, and above all, the natural flavours of high quality local ingredients.

Our freshly prepared breakfast is served in the elegant dining room of the Old Town Hall House. James cooks a delicious English breakfast using locally sourced ingredients, including bacon from M&M Rutland butchers and free range eggs from Top Farm in Great Snoring. A variety of other breakfast options are available; from eggs Benedict to Cley Smokehouse kippers, American pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, and Scottish smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. You can also enjoy freshly baked continental pastries and sourdough toast with Norfolk honey or delicious homemade preserves. Fresh fruit salad and organic yoghurt are served alongside our own granola, made with crushed malted barley from Branthill farm, and jumbo oats from Letheringsett Watermill.

Every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday evening, we also offer a delicious gourmet meal for residents and non residents. The fixed menu varies according to season and event, as well as availability of local produce. A sample of what we offer is our current three course menu, available at a cost of £30 / guest excluding wine:

Starter: Green tomato consommé

Main: Roast cod with braised Borlotti beans, coppa di Gombitelli & salsa verde

Dessert: Trinity Colllege burnt cream, Yorkshire forced rhubarb

Coffee, homemade cardamom chocolates

We are fully licensed and offer a small but carefully compiled selection of wines, beers and spirits to accompany your meal.
