The Star Hotel in Great Yarmouth on South Quay overlooking the River Yare is one of the town’s most striking buildings with its distinct black and white facade, parts of which date back to the 17th century.

The Star Hotel has 41 en suite bedrooms, providing the business or holiday traveller excellent service and comfortable accommodation. Children are very welcome. All rooms have satellite television, direct dial telephone and tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a lift to all floors and a private car park.

Great Yarmouth has a rich and proud maritime heritage and its prosperous herring fishery made it one of the wealthiest towns in Britain in years gone by. As a result, there are lots of beautiful, ancient buildings and merchants houses to see in the town centre and around the historic South Quay area.

The River Room restaurant on the first floor provides diners with views of the River Yare and Great Yarmouth’s fine Victorian Town Hall. Modern British food with lots of choice and sourced from Norfolk suppliers where possible. Open for evening dining on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and traditional Sunday lunches.

The Nelson Bar offers morning coffees, light lunches, comforting main meals, and a fine selection of wine and beers. There are also some interesting rums and gins to try.
