Description

With wonderful RSPB reserve of Titchwell Marsh just a few miles away, The Garden is an ideal base for twitchers of all kinds. As well as Titchwell Marsh, the glorious North Norfolk beaches and a number of fine golf courses are all within easy reach of this individual and well-maintained site. The site is enclosed in a southerly facing walled garden and contains 30 marked touring pitches. The walled garden is part of the grounds of Barmer Hall and makes for an attractive location. Pitches each receive16A electric hook-up points and each has a TV aerial point. Signal reception varies in quality throughout the site – possibly a result of the high wall surrounding the complex and the fine woodland beyond. The Garden’s wash block comprises free hot showers, washbasins, disabled facilities and a sink dish washing. The site is veritable oasis within quite dense woodland – it traps the sun and can be very pleasant in spring and summer. If it gets really hot there are mature trees and shrubs to provide cover around the site. There’s no on-site shop but the town of Docking is nearby for any extras you might need. The Garden is ideally placed for exploring Norfolk’s attractions. For instance, it’s not far from Sandringham and the roads and trails around are ideal for walkers and cyclists. There’s also a woodland walk which you can access from the door in the wall at the rear of the site. Also within striking distance (not necessarily on foot) are attractions such as Norfolk Lavender – the oldest full-scale lavender farm in England, also the Thursford Collection. The latter houses an interesting array of steam engines, Wurlitzer organs and other mechanical organs. Langham Glass is close by. If you arrive on site and there’s no-one at reception, don’t worry, simply pitch up and see the wardens later.
