Family, pilgrim and dog-friendly accommodation, 4 miles from the North Norfolk coast.
The Old Bakehouse
The Old Bakehouse dates back to the Tudor period, with the basement possibly from the 1420’s when the street was laid out. Guest accommodation is in the Tudor and Georgian parts of the building from the 1500’s and the 1740’s, including use of the lofty drawing room with its stunning inglenook fireplace at one end. Guests may also use the private chapel in the basement by arrangement.
We have 2 attractive Georgian rooms (Walpole and Cavell) that can be either twin or a super-king, and one cosy Tudor suite (Nelson) that has a queen-sized sleigh-bed. Nelson has a bath and shower hose. The Georgian rooms have showers. Up to 2 extra beds for children can be placed in all 3 rooms.
Self-service continental breakfast in the drawing room is included and is usually bread / croissants / cereal / yoghurt / fruit / fruit juice and tea and coffee. Guests are welcome to use the small kitchenette to prepare simple meals and store food should you wish. We can also arrange for delicious meals to be ordered in advance with a local caterer if you are looking for something hot for lunch or dinner to be brought to the house. You are welcome to eat in your room as well as downstairs.
We are doggy friendly but like to know in advance if you are bringing a pet. We don’t have any TV’s in the house, but you are of course welcome to use the Wifi to keep up to speed.
