Description

Although each lodge is furnished and equipped to the same high standards, each have their own contemporary characters, individually designed to a different colour palette.

Enter via your own garden gate into a mature and private garden where birds feed and the occasional hedgehog visits. Each hot tub is on the south-facing sun deck, where you’ll also find sun-loungers and outdoor furniture for dining al fresco. A gas barbecue is provided too.

The lounge area contains large bi-fold glazed doors which can be folded back on warm days. As well as an ample sofa, there’s an armchair too for relaxing nights in, with Netflix provided on the large screen Smart TV. Under-floor heating ensures that these lodges are cosy all year round. The dining area is close by, along with the very well equipped kitchen; conventional oven, hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher. Cedar and Oak Lodges have freezers too.

Each bedroom is decorated to provide the perfect place for a relaxing nights sleep; the king size beds with 1000 pocket sprung mattress are well rated by guests. There’s also a small wall-mounted tv, bedside clock radio, bedside cabinets, and ample wardrobe space. Each bathroom includes a larger than normal shower, lit mirror, and heated towel rail. Bed linen, towels and dressing gowns are provided.

Upthorpe Lodges are in countryside on the edge of Stanton, north east of Bury St Edmunds and just 20 minutes from the A14. There are country footpaths from the lodges for those who like to explore on foot, with the attractive village of Walsham le Willows nearby. Local attractions include the town of Bury St Edmunds, with its museums, galleries, cinemas and theatres. Bury’s Theatre Royal is well worth a visit for a Georgian experience.

Feeling adventurous? If you’re seeking an off-road experience there’s cycle hire at High Lodge Thetford, where you’ll also find Go Ape high ropes adventure, segways and cycle hire for the miles of off-road tracks. Love nature and wildlife? Banham Zoo will have you enthralled, or there are popular local wildlife sites at Redgrave and Lopham Fen, and Lackford Lakes. Art and culture? Norwich and Cambridge are lovely cities to explore for the day.

Staying in or venturing out, Upthorpe lodges make a great choice for your next break.
