Part of the Zoological Society of East Anglia, Africa Alive offers a wild opportunity to encounter some of Africa’s most iconic species while discovering more about their natural behaviours, habitats and the vital work of conservation.

Home to hundreds of African animals across more than 100 acres of beautiful Suffolk countryside, we are proud to be keeping the spirit of Africa alive on England’s eastern coast.

At the heart of the Zoo lies the breath taking Plains of Africa habitat, where you can overlook five species of savanna animals roaming together in an expansive landscape, including towering giraffes and formidable rhinoceroses. But that’s not all, adventure into the dark of the African night in the Nocturnal house and come face to face with two unmissable aardvarks.

With so much more to explore, families can also enjoy a large outdoor adventure play area, welcoming restaurants to feed those hungry explorers, free parking, accessible facilities and a well-stocked gift shop.
