Located just north of North Walsham, Bacton Wood is perfect for a day out with nature whether you are on foot, cycle or horseback.
With orienteering and walking trails, Bacton Wood is also ideal for those who just want to relax and take in the sights and sounds of rural Norfolk.
Managed sustainably for people, wildlife and timber, there are over 30 species of tree in Bacton Wood including Scots and Corsican Pine, Western Hemlock, Douglas Fir and Larch.
Bacton Woods offers circular rides of up to 2 miles within its 113 hectares. Open to cyclists and walkers, some paths open to horse riding.
Bacton Woods is a great place for all abilities to cycle. Family cycling on the main paths or following a circular trail is a great introduction to this hobby and is safe away from traffic. For the more adventurous mountain biker, there are a labyrinth of minor paths winding through the trees and up and down this surprisingly hilly terrain. Look out for the entrances to these paths from the main tracks.
