A gentle walk through the heart of Suffolk’s countryside. Visit Combs Wood, an ancient woodland where bluebells abound.

This 6 ½ mile walk starts and ends at Stowmarket Railway Station and follows the Gipping Valley Path along the lovely River Gipping. Combs Wood is an excellent example of an ancient woodland and is recorded in the Doomsday Book. Near the end of the walk pas by Badley Hall, with its atmosphere of past splendour.

Directions to start: Stowmarket is located on the A14 between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds.
