DanceEast is the home for dance in the East of England. It provides extraordinary dance performances, life-affirming participatory opportunities for all and a world-class environment for artists at all stages of their careers.
DanceEast is housed in the beautiful purpose-built dance facility, the Jerwood DanceHouse. An iconic destination on the thriving Ipswich waterfront, the DanceHouse consists of four world-class dance studios, the intimate James Hehir Theatre, The Whistler Gallery exhibition space, and an on-site café and bar.
These renowned facilities attract the world’s best dance artists and companies to the region – with many choosing to develop and premiere their works at DanceEast, before going on to tour the major venues around the country and internationally.
DanceEast also delivers a range of public dance classes for all ages and abilities – from hip hop to ballet barre.
Many dance classes are pay-as-you-go, so even if you are just visiting, you can still give them a go!

The Jerwood DanceHouse is situated at the Mill on Ipswich Waterfront, close to Stoke Bridge and roughly 15 minutes’ walk from Ipswich train station.
