The farm cafe + shop at Marlesford is an oasis on the A12, a few miles from Woodbridge in Suffolk. We’ve been offering locally produced, quality food since 2001 and our cafe has built a reputation as a destination for good, honest, mouth-watering breakfasts and lunches (not to mention our famous homemade scones!). We also have a convenient shop next door, so if there’s anything on the menu that you’ve particularly enjoyed, you can buy it in the shop and cook it yourself at home!
Our tearoom in Bury St Edmunds was opened in 2001 and has become an immensely popular destination for residents and visitors alike. Positioned in a central location within the old town, we are conveniently located for amenities such as car parks and both independent and high street shops, as well as the historical attractions of the cathedral and the abbey ruins.
Set within one of the old Cornhill buildings (circa 1900) the tearoom benefits from a grand entrance and high ceilings adorned with chandeliers, with a pianist playing on selected afternoons to add to the ambience. Full of history and charm, the building has been used as a library and part of an old fire station in years past and has had many retail uses since.
The cafe menu will continue to have at its heart the wonderfully abundant local produce transformed by the kitchens into fabulous breakfasts, lunches, and afternoon teas with chef’s specials each day influenced by the seasons. The welcoming and friendly shop will continue to provide the cafe kitchens and customers with a place to buy all the fabulous locally sourced produce and products that are lovingly grown, baked, cooked and created by a vast array of dedicated suppliers for which Suffolk is rightly famous.
We hope you will come, try and taste for yourselves – we’re sure you won’t leave disappointed.
