16th Century traditional Suffolk Inn with historic character. Serving local Cask Ales, Meat, Vegetables, and Cider etc. Fleece Tea Room attached.
A 16th Century Coaching Inn situated in the medieval village of Boxford between Sudbury and Ipswich. Recently repaired and decorated restoring the historic character of this traditional Suffolk Inn. A warm welcome with wood burning stoves and four public rooms including the Victorian ‘Corder Room’ and atmospheric ‘Guild Room’ upstairs which is available for functions and meals. On the far side of the carriageway will be the ‘Fleece Tea Room’ due to open in April. Landlords Clare and Jarred Harris will be specialising in traditional English food sourcing local everything- cask ales, larger, meat, vegetables, cider etc. In fact the house beer is from the award winning ‘Mill Green Brewery’ in Edwardstone two miles away. There are many quiet lanes and footpaths running into the ancient countryside around Boxford, so visitors are welcome to experience the flavour of the area and to eat, drink and be merry at the Fleece, whether they are on foot, bike or car. We have a dog friendly enclosed courtyard to the rear.
