Happisburgh Lighthouse

Happisburgh Lighthouse is the oldest working light in East Anglia, and the only independently run lighthouse in Great Britain.

Description
Description

Happisburgh Lighthouse was built 1791, one of a pair to mark safe passage around the notorious Haisborough Sands.

Saved from closure by the local community in 1990, the lighthouse is still fully operational and maintained by voluntary contributions.

Visit the oldest working light on the Norfolk Coast and the only independently operated lighthouse in the UK. Visitors can find out about the history and operation of the lighthouse, and climb the 112 steps to view the stunning views from the lantern.
