Norfolk Schools Sailing Association is a voluntary organisation and registered charity that teaches sailing to young people and adults at our NSSA Filby Centre. A recognised teaching organisation running courses for all abilities.
The NSSA is a registered charity, run by volunteers and trustees, many of them former NSSA trainees. These volunteers provide affordable, inclusive sailing courses and related activities. Our instructors, ensure the courses meet each student’s needs and abilities.
NSSA is a sail training organisation, not a sailing club. It is an affiliate of the National Schools Sailing Association and is a Recognised Training Centre of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). We have around 50 volunteer instructors and they are all RYA qualified.
To sail with NSSA at Filby you need to become a member. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 8 years. Membership for 2021 is £50. There is no further cost for Youth Courses. Adult Beginner courses are £175 and all other Adult Modules are £140. This includes any RYA Log Books.
Our membership year runs from 1st January to 31st December each year.
NSSA Bursary – If you are unable to meet the cost of membership please apply to the membership secretary for a grant to cover this cost.
