One of the city’s most famous landmarks built by the Normans 900 years ago – now a museum and art gallery.
This Norman Castle contains a treasure trove of galleries filled with decorative arts, Ancient Egyptian artefacts, Celtic and Roman history and natural history. Highlights from the art galleries include the Norwich School of Painters, along with modern art and special exhibitions. The museum also houses Royal Norfolk Regimental displays.
Norwich Castle’s Medieval Keep, Battlements and Dungeons are currently undergoing an exciting transformation and are closed to the public; access to some galleries may also change. See our website for more information.
