Outney Meadow is a family run Suffolk caravan and camping site in the Waveney Valley, offering canoe and bicycle hire.
Outney Meadow is a family run Suffolk caravan park and camping site in the Waveney Valley countryside within easy walking distance of the historic market town of Bungay ideally situated between the river Waveney and the golf course at Bungay on the Norfolk and Suffolk border. We are also next door to Outney Common, a large loop of land by the river with excellent walks and birdwatching opportunities.
The camping area is grass with some trees for shade and shelter. There are 45 pitches, some with electric hook ups set in eight acres of ground and the park is open March to October. Dogs are welcome at the park but must be kept on a lead and exercised on the signed dog walk.
Outney Meadow Caravan Park is an ideal base to explore East Anglia’s coast and towns. Within easy traveling distance is the Suffolk heritage coast, the lower Waveney Valley, the historic and cultural attractions of the city of Norwich and the quiet beauty of the North Norfolk coast.
Canoes have the advantage of being totally silent, allowing you to get closer to wildlife whilst enjoying the beautiful landscape of the Waveney Valley, and can be enjoyed by any age.
Swans, herons and kingfishers can be seen on the river and, in the summer beautiful damselflies, butterflies and dragonflies. Although otters are living in the river they are not easily seen.
Canoe hire is available at Bungay from Outney Meadow Caravan Park. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome and safety on the water is always very important so be aware of the safety rules
Prices for a Canadian canoe are £35.00 for half day or £50.00 per day (9.30AM to 5.00PM)
