Regularly recognised among the Top 100 Courses in the country, every year sees us working hard to enhance Members’ and visitors’ enjoyment of our glorious cliff-top location.
The original nine-hole course opened for play in April 1892. With increasing membership and visitors, an additional nine holes were added and the 18-hole course was opened on 14th May 1898. A Professionals’ Tournament was held on 21st July and won by J. H. Taylor, with a 36-hole total of 157.
Golfers of all abilities are assured of a warm welcome at Sheringham. A quick call to the Pro Shop should put you on the way to a memorable round along our beautiful cliff-top course. As you would expect, we ask all visitors to adopt our dress code and ensure that each is fully equipped for their round/s. Again, any doubts or queries can be addressed to the Pro Shop.
Though a Club with a strong and active playing Membership, we are always delighted to welcome Visitors, even on Public and Bank Holidays – subject to advance booking and availability. You may care to note however, that Singles/Foursomes is our prescribed mode of play on Tuesday mornings. Other than that, any forms of play are generally acceptable on all days.
