A home for the culturally curious… Music, art, education & conversation in a beautiful 19th century farm complex with outstanding facilities, situated at the foot of the Gog Magog Downs and just 5 miles from the centre of Cambridge.
Stapleford Granary is an arts centre built on the vision and values of the Association for Cultural Exchange: fostering cultural understanding – from local to worldwide, historical to contemporary – through education. Our cultural curiosity and passion for cross-arts collaboration lies at the heart of what we do, illustrated in our programming, artist residencies, research, workshops and exhibitions. Over the next 5 years, we’ll be exploring more ways to support our belief in the arts to change and enrich lives and envisage new ways of thinking.
Housed within converted farm buildings and set against a sweeping rural landscape, Stapleford Granary’s rich heritage, beautiful architecture and creative flair make it an inspiring and special space to hire. The new Stapleford Granary building was awarded the RIBA Regional East Award 2019 for its authentic renovation. The tranquillity of the site, together with its accessibility, make it the ideal venue.
The Granary’s Cafe
Our beautiful cafe serves the finest Butterworth’s coffee, teas, cold drinks and exceptional locally sourced cakes & pastries. An integral part of the Stapleford Granary art centre experience, the cafe has been lovingly designed, furnished, planted, decorated and stocked entirely by the staff who work here. You’ll find evidence of our own passions – walls of art, iconic prints, story-telling, music and local crafts – alongside a carefully curated gift shop selling books, prints, cards, candles, ceramics, children’s gifts and much more. It’s a perfect spot for meeting friends, sitting outside on the terrace or in our cosy, stylish indoor seating areas. You can take in our free exhibitions, wander down to the Orchard, or chat to us about the many concerts and events that take place here throughout the year. And for our youngest visitors there’s always a fun ‘Curious About…’ activity pack to pick up and discover something new.
We hope you enjoy your visit and we look forward to seeing you soon!
