The Angel Hotel

The Eaterie
With views overlooking the Georgian square and the abbey gardens, this really is the best place to relax and enjoy a meal.

Description
Description

The Angel’s Eaterie restaurant, overlooking one of the prettiest Georgian squares in the country, offers guests exciting two AA Rosettes food, a stunning collection of contemporary artwork and stylish fixtures and fittings.

While every restaurant worthy of the name is nowadays sourcing local and traceable foods, Executive Head Chef Simon Barker makes a point of visiting farms and butchers himself. So, you will find yourself eating venison from the Denham Estate (just down the road from The Angel); pork from Dingley Dell Farm (just outside of Wickham Market); and asparagus from Easton Farm (slightly farther up the Heritage Coast).

Wine is sourced from half a dozen different suppliers: there is everything from an everyday Australian chardonnay to a vintage rose champagne on the list. More than 30 different wines are available by the glass – and thanks to a very sophisticated wine preservation system, every glass tastes as good as the first out of the bottle.

Open for Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Dinner or why not explore the fantastic Wingspan Bar, located underneath the hotel in the 12th Century vaults.
