The Broads Walking Trail

This is a boating and walking trail in the Spy format with clues set in and around Salhouse Broad, Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail, Ranworth (Malthouse Broad), Ludham (Womack Staithe) and Potter Heigham Staithe.

Mooring charges may apply. These locations can be visited in any order but PLEASE NOTE there are opening hours restrictions at the Nature Trail so please plan your trailing accordingly! PLEASE NOTE THAT AS THIS IS NOT A CIRCULAR TRAIL YOU MUST LEAVE SUFFICIENT TIME TO RETURN YOUR BOAT TO THE YARD (IF A DAY HIRE). Alternatively, you could complete the Trail over 2 or more days. The distance, and time, shown (28 miles, 14 hours) are based on starting and finishing the trail at Potter Heigham Staithe. The majority of the trail can also be completed as a driving, cycling or long-distance walk (please note road directions between the various clue areas are not given) however the Nature Trail is only accessible by boat – a ferry service is available (charges apply) from Salhouse Broad during the Nature Trails normal opening hours. Areas of the trail are over uneven ground – the trail is not considered suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
