The Old Cannon Brewery | Visit East of England

Our beers are made from East Anglian grown and malted barley and choice English hops; and we brew once or twice a week, usually on a Monday or Wednesday when you can sit sipping the results whilst watching the next brew in the making!

We always have our core beers Best Bitter 3.8%ABV and Gunner’s Daughter 5.5%ABV available. These are complimented with one of our own seasonal beers such as Hornblower or Brass Monkey in the Spring; and Gunport Stout, Black Pig or St Edmund’s Head in the Autumn/Winter.

To compliment our Old Cannon beers we have a constant rotation of guest ales from around the country as well as Adnams Southwold bitter, our regular guest beer from the Suffolk coast.

For whisk(e)y lovers, we also have our Spirit of Gunner’s Daughter. A malt based spirit that is distilled in small batches with our famous Gunner’s Daughter beer. It has distinctive malty characteristics in a smooth spirit and is available to buy over the bar as well as a 50cl bottle with a branded gift box.

If beer is not your tipple, we have a full range of spirits, local Aspall cyder, Suffolk-grown apple juice and a carefully selected range of wines, many of which are available by the glass. Our house draught lager Calvors 3.8, a Suffolk lager brewed on a farm in nearby Coddenham.

At the heart of The Old Cannon is our on-site Brewery! Eleven outstanding real ales all brewed on the property – but excelling on the ales certainly does not mean we have compromised on the food.

Offering delightful lunches and mouth-watering dinners plus Sunday Specials and a full Kid’s Menu too – we’re sure you’ll find what you’re looking for. We are family-friendly and promise superb service with a smile!
