Description

The site on which the Queen Victoria stands can trace its association with brewing back to the mid 1800s

In 1843 John Garrad bought the land and built an alehouse, and in 1868 Garrad went into partnership with Walter Grimston to form the Garrad & Grimston Brewery. Some 20 years later the business was in difficulty and Walter Gray took over.

The public house situated on Spital Road, a short walk from the High Street (10mins) or by public transport, welcomes you with home cooked food, fine ales and lagers, wines and spirits including an impressive Gin and Whisky shelf. Food is served 7 days a week The pub is dog friendly in the public bar side and there is a small sunny beer garden.
