The Swan Inn is a majestic building overlooking a sharp bend in the River Bure. The origins of The Swan were a cottage built on the site in 1696 but the main part of the building dates from the “early” 19th century. It’s position on the Norfolk Broads has made it a distinctive landmark for river users and locals alike, it’s most recent claim to fame being the setting for two of Arthur Ransom’s (author of Swallows and Amazons) children’s books ‘Coot Club’ and ‘The Big Six’.
