Description

Landguard Fort is one of England’s best preserved coastal defences, with a history spanning almost 450 years. Discover the Fort’s rich military and maritime heritage with a maze of rooms, tunnels and passageways, informative displays and audio visuals, guided tours and re-enactments.

Felixstowe Museum brings alive the military and social history of this seaside town with fascinating artefacts and collections. A real ‘hidden’ treasure with fourteen different rooms, from costumes and model planes to fossils, toys and changing themed exhibitions.

Landguard Nature Reserve is an important Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) – a shingle spit offering a variety of flora and fauna. Unusual and rare plants, migrating birds and military history.

The John Bradfield Viewing Area offers unrivalled views of the huge ships arriving and departing at Britain’s busiest container port. Relax at the Visitor Centre and View Point Cafe with serves up fish and chips, cakes and ice cream. There are also hands-on displays and information on the Landguard Peninsula.
