Visit East of England & Partners will be representing the region’s destinations at VisitBritain’s tourism showcase in the United States.
Destination Britain North America (DBNA) in San Francisco is a unique one-stop-shop opportunity for VEE’s travel trade executive Helen Cutting to meet more than 50 hand-picked top US and Canadian travel trade and tour operators.
‘This is the first time VEE & Partners have attended this event so it will be very much about introducing key industry players to the brilliant destinations we have in Suffolk and Norfolk,’ said Helen.
DBNA is series of marketplace timed appointments, destination seminars and networking functions where VEE & Partners can create a list of direct contacts to unlock the potential of bringing North American tours to the region, particularly with the streaming of the Tom Hanks-Steven Spielberg Apple TV+ mini-series Masters of the Air in early 2024.
Helen added, ‘The North American inbound market is recovering strongly from Covid and this is a great opportunity for the East of England to start getting a bigger share.’
As well as a promotional film (above), Travel Trade and Masters of the Air leaflets will be given to operators as well as USB sticks of destination details and imagery.
In the first nine months of 2022, the UK received 4.1m North American visitors, spending £5.3bn. The US accounted for 16% of international visits and 29% of spend in that time.
VEE & Partners will be attending the event in San Francisco on September 7-10 in partnership with Visit Cambridge and Beyond.
