Visitors looking for cultural delights will be impressed with the choice on offer. The Cut, an old maltings is an urban sized centre for the arts with a full theatre, music, film and exhibition programme throughout the year. Steeple End Gallery provides both an intimate and attractive space, providing the ideal setting for displaying contemporary paintings, sculpture, ceramics and textiles. Housed in the original railway buildings, the Halesworth and District Museum tells the story of the earlier historic life of the town and surrounding villages.

The Halesworth Town Trail provides an ideal opportunity to explore the town and discover it’s interesting past including the 15th century Saxon church and the town park. The town park also links through to Halesworth’s Millennium Green, the largest single Millennium green in the country. Stretching along the banks of the River Blyth, it is a haven for wildlife and flowers and provides two circular walks of up to two miles.

The pedestrianised Thoroughfare provides an authentic market town shopping experience, centred around independent shops, continuing through to the market place, where the weekly market blends the old with the new. Halesworth is a haven for food lovers, with an abundance of fresh local produce and fine restaurants. The Halesworth Produce Market, which takes place on the second Saturday of the month, displays some of the finest foods from around the region. To complement your food, why not try a glass of local wine from Wissett Wines Vineyards, or alternatively take a tour to see how their award winning wine is produced.

For those wishing to enjoy something a little more energetic, Halesworth has a bowling green and an 18 hole golf course- truly something for everyone.

Halesworth Brocante Antique & Vintage Market

This very popular market is probably one of the best antique and vintage markets in the region attracting sellers and buyers from across, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. Taking place on the first Saturday of the month there are on average 40 Brocanteurs selling an eclectic array of antique, vintage and collectables all under cover at the Old Print Works in the centre of Halesworth. Free admission, Disabled, Child & Dog friendly.

Markets in the Market Place

The Medieval Market Place in Halesworth has been the venue for local producers selling their wares since it received its Charter in 1220. There is still a weekly market held every Wednesday but more recently a series of specialist markets have been organised. The first of 2017 was the Spring Garden Market, this was followed by the Midsummer Market. September sees the Food & Drink Market and the final market of the year is the Traditional Christmas Food, Drink & Artisan Market.

Halesworth Antiques Street Market

Halesworth Antiques Street Market celebrated its 25th year in 2017. Always held on August Bank Holiday Sunday it is probably the best known and longest running antiques street market in Suffolk. Run by the Halesworth Tourism Group, the market has around 100 dealers stalled out throughout the pedestrianised Thoroughfare, the Old Print Works and the historic Market Place. Attracting large numbers of visitors from across East Anglia. All proceeds from the Market after expenses go to the East Anglian Air Ambulance and other local Charities, on average this amounts to over £3000.
