We are particularly excited for the UK’s first visit by the internationally famous Buenos Aires Symphony Orchestra of Colón.Their colourful programme will begin with Argentina’s greatest composer Astor Piazzolla and his ever-popular Libertango. This will follow Wagner’s Prelude & Liebestod from his most romantic opera, Tristan & Isolde.The first half will end with Bizet’s dazzling orchestral suite from his great opera Carmen. In the second half, we will have a unique opportunity to hear Piazzolla’s Bandoneon Concerto. A Bandoneon is an Argentinian type of piano accordion, which we are sure will delight our Norwich audience. The evening will end in familiar style with a suite from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, the music of which has been tantalising audiences since it was composed in 1876.
