Margaret Cavendish, formerly Margaret Lucas, was a trailblazer in dystopian science fiction, playwriting, and poetry. Her bold critiques of academia and feminist ideas captivated audiences, including Samuel Pepys, who noted the crowds she drew in London in 1667.
