Description

Depart from the town quay at Orford on board Tilly or Kitty and head downriver on a one hour round trip with commentary, circumnavigating the RSPB reserve at Havergate Island en route.

This part of the river Ore is very unspoilt and a haven for wildlife. For the keen birdwatcher you can expect to see many species. You may also see members of the resident population of harbour seals at the entrance to the Butley river.

On the seaward side of the river we will pass Orford Ness, a fascinating and secret place which has played an important role in our nation’s military history and many of the buildings erected during the Cold War period are still there. We will provide more of an insight into the significance of this historical area as we cruise past.

Tickets cost £16 for adults and £10 for children ( 14 years and under ).

All our boats carry up to 12 passengers. Dogs are welcome on all our trips.

We also run river trips from Woodbridge and Snape Maltings – please see our website for more details.
