Troubadour Circus is a programme of free circus workshops, taking place from 30 August to 30 September 2021, led by Norwich Castle and The Oak Circus Centre
Throughout the summer, young people will practice exhilarating skills like aerial hoop and acrobatics, gain confidence and make friends. The programme with result in a spectacular performance to a live audience.
900 years ago, in 1121, King Henry I visited Norwich and spent Christmas at Norwich Castle. Feasts and performances filled the royal palace and a sense of occasion swept through the streets of Norwich. With the help of Norwich Castle’s curators, medieval objects in our collection and The Oak Circus Centre’s expert tutors, young participants will use circus skills to interpret and perform this remarkable event in Norwich’s history for new audiences to enjoy.
These 12 workshops are tailored for young people with no circus experience and The Oak Circus Centre will support participants every step of the way. Each workshop will take place at St. Michael Coslany church, a unique creative space in the centre of Norwich.
