Events for all the family

East Anglia events have something for everyone - from carnivals, air displays and arts festivals to historical re-enactments, craft fairs, agricultural shows, and workshops and courses all held in the region throughout the year.

If you're a foody, we've plenty to get your teeth stuck into including food events and farmers markets and festivals in East Anglia. East Anglia is also home to a range of large scale festivals, not least the Maritime Festival in Great Yarmouth and Latitude Music Festival in Suffolk.

High Tide Festival, Aldeburgh, September 2017

HighTide Festival is our annual festival of new plays on the gorgeous Suffolk Coast. Every year this event presents their latest productions as world premieres, surrounded by a programme of talks with world-class artists, play readings, comedy, cabaret and much more. Details

The Out There Festival, Great Yarmouth, 16th and 17th September

Over one action-packed weekend, you can enjoy the very best circus and street arts from across the world – all taking place in the the streets, parks and open spaces of Great Yarmouth… and almost all entirely FREE! Details

Aldeburgh Food + Drink Festival 23th-24th September

A celebration of Suffolk's thriving food & drink scene; the Festival takes place in the beautiful setting of Snape Maltings. Next to the River Alde and close to the Suffolk coast, where reed-covered marshlands stretch into the distance towards Aldeburgh. Details

Norfolk Walking and Cycling Festival, October 2017

The month of October will feature an exciting range of walking and cycling events for all ages, abilities and interests. Events include; Walks around the Norfolk Broads, A ramble and roast at Cley Marshes, Cycle rides along the Marriott’s Way, Fungi foraging at Kelling Heath, ‘Marsh Magic’ ramble from Blakeney to Wells-next-the-Sea along the stunning Norfolk Coast Path. Rembrandt, Lightening the Darkness, 21 October 2017 – 7 January 2018

Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606-1669) is one of the most revered artists of the European tradition. Rembrandt: Lightening the Darkness focuses specifically on one of the less well-known aspects of Rembrandt’s output, namely his fascination with print-making. Details

Newmarket Open Weekend on 16th and 17th September 2017

Racing nutters and food lovers are equally catered for thanks to the NOW Food & Drink Festival, which takes place over both days (10am-5pm) and boasts over 50 bespoke stalls. Placed right at the heart of the action in Newmarket’s town centre it brings a festival feel to this racing town. Details

Aldeburgh Documentary Festival, 3th-5th November

The Aldeburgh DocFest is a very special weekend in a magical place on the edge of the North Sea. DocFest is organised and delivered by the Aldeburgh Cinema Trust, a Registered Charity also responsible for the year-round operation of Aldeburgh Cinema, a community film theatre that has shown movies consistently since 1919.
