Magic Moments in Great Yarmouth

Perched on the east coast, Great Yarmouth’s golden beaches and twinkling amusement arcades blend with a growing heritage and cultural offer…. (gateway to broads) Circus runs Enjoy frightfully good family circus in the country’s last ‘total circus’ building, the Hippodrome with their Halloween Spooktacular, discover close-hand magic and create Day of the Dead masks at The Drill House’s Spooky Do and uncover the magic of the circus world as Time & Tide Museum celebrates 250 years of circus.

In October half term Great Yarmouth plays host to a bewitching celebration of conjuring, wizardry and illusion, plus we’ll be offering you some tips on some of our other ‘magical’ family days out.

Headlining our programme of Magic Moments in Great Yarmouth, we’re delighted to welcome Swedish sleight-of-hand sensations, Charlie Caper and Malin Nilsson, with their incredible magic show, Minor Miracles.

Magic Moments Festival: Charlie Caper

Charlie Caper became one with the Swedish nation when he won Sweden’s Got Talent 2009. He has also starred in his own prime time TV show ”Helt Magiskt”. Charlie is a street magician by heart and been traveling around the world performing in 40 different countries, perfecting his sleight of hand during more than 4500 shows. You’ll be astounded by his mesmerising sleight-of-hand tricks!

This is a free event for all the family.

Magic Moments Festival: Minor Miracles

Winner of Best Magic Award at the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2016!

She is the glorious enfant terrible of magic. He is a gentleman hobo, a conjuror extraordinaire. All the way from Sweden, Caper and Nilsson bring their unique combination of magic, comedy and surrealism. A laugh out-loud, one-of-a-kind magic show packed with world class sleight-of-hand magic and topped with a pinch of confetti.

Malin Nilsson is a magician with passion for creating unique magic and live shows. She is known for her variety inspired style and unpretentious way of performing magic. Malin grew up at a small theatre in the south of Sweden where she returns every year with a new show. She appears frequently at The Magic Castle in Hollywood, the world most prestigious stage for magic and has performed more than 200 shows at the Krystallpalast in Leipzig.

England’s last ‘total-circus’ building plays host to a spooky adventure with Jack Jay and Johnny Mac. This hilarious theatrical show is a great Halloween experience for all the family and features stunning circus acts in a unique themed setting.

Circus! Show of Shows – An exhibition celebrating 250 years of Circus

Time & Tide Museum

Saturday 6 October – Sunday 3 March 2019,


Part of a nationwide museums partnership, this exhibition details the origins of Circus from the Ancient Greek ‘Hippodrome’ through to the last 250 years and beyond. The colour, drama and pageantry of circus, the tent, the buildings, the performers, the animals and key Norfolk stories will all be explored.
