UNLONDON in Norwich, our City of Stories

2 Nights Itinerary

Eminently walkable, Norwich was the country’s first UNESCO City of Literature and is the only city in a National Park, the Broads.

Be a flâneur and wander cobbled streets on picturesque Elm Hill and in The Lanes, peruse the wares and produce on Europe’s largest permanent market, enjoy the independent shops around London Street, the UK’s first pedestrianised street, and take in riverside views along the Wensum.

It’s said that the city once had a pub for every day and a church for a Sunday. Today there’s still a wide range of pubs, some with their own breweries and distilleries, and the churches are still there – with some repurposed as bookshops, antique collections, a puppet theatre, a home for the city’s annual beer festival and even a skatepark.

As well as incredible historic sights like the Norman cathedral and castle, the city has a youthful vibe, courtesy of having two universities.

Landmarks to visit in Norwich

Norwich is compact but packs in landmarks including the iconic Norman castle and cathedral, The Lanes which are full of great independent shops and places to eat and drink, and the magnificent market place.
