The legacy and memory of The Eighth Air Force, the young men who created The Friendly Invasion and became Masters of the Air, lives on not only in the Apple TV+ series from Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, but more pertinently actually here in the East of England, in a group of mostly volunteer-run memorial sites and museums.

This is not an itinerary as such, but it gives you the opportunity to see the location of the main sites and how you might produce your own trip.

There are a few sites that operate normal opening hours, but most have scheduled dates or can open by appointment.
