If you are missing in-person book chat then the National Centre for Writing (NCW) based in Norwich, may have just the thing to help.
During the months of lockdown, the NCW set up a virtual book group to give people all over the world the chance to join in with conversations about some of the most exciting books around.
The next book up for discussion is Rendang by Will Harris. It’s been described as a ‘love letter to the histories, places and things that make us’. If poetry isn’t usually your thing have a listen to this podcast with NCW’s Flo Reynolds in which she gives some great beginner tips on how to enjoy and get into poetry.
Everyone’s welcome to join the book group, which takes place via Zoom, although places for the chat are limited to ensure a good experience for all.
Sign up for one of the discussions and you’ll get sent some info on how to take part. You can also join the NCW’s free community space on Discord, where writers and readers from around the world can connect and share tips and book recommendations. There is a channel on Discord just for book club chat. If you need any help getting started with Discord/Zoom or podcasts then drop the NCW an email at info@nationalcentreforwriting.org.uk and they’ll be sure to help get you started.
