Dance

The East of England is a region of elegant, perpetual movement. Whether it be in the broad skies overhead or the visual manifestation of the wind, as captured in the constant sway of crops, movement is everywhere. This might go some way to reflect why dance is such a vital element of the East.

From DanceEast, which forms part of the regenerated Ipswich Waterfront and is one of the 12 National Centres for Advanced Training in Dance; to Seachange Arts, which has over the past 20 years built an international reputation for delivering circus and street art events from its Great Yarmouth base to the Theatre Royal, Norwich and its consistent staging of world-leading dance repertoire, the East is arguably one of the nation’s most significant regions for dance for participants, audiences and aficionados alike.
